Windows 7 Guest, USB is not anymore working

Hi there,

I am having this problem. I have VB 4.2.0 r80737 (but they stopped to work even with 4.1) installed on Ubuntu 10.04 - 64bit

Everything was working like a charm. Suddenly USB disks stopped working (while are working on XP). They used to work without problem.

Now I can see the USB and "connect" them to the Guest Win7, but it fails to install drivers. And under device manager, I see USB Mass Storage with the yellow ! and under general This device cannot start. (Code 10) ...

In Ubuntu Host, the logged in user is member of vboxuser and ls groups. Guest additions are latest version 4.2.0 r80737
I have also connected some USBDongles and they are working. It is only USB Disks which are no working ...
They are working on the Ubuntu Host and in Windows XP Guests

The error message I am getting in Win 7 Guest is:

Driver Software Installation
Device driver software was not succesfully installed
Please consult with your device manufacturer ... ... ...
USB Mass Storage Device X Failed

I have the same problem in XP in Ubuntu-host.
I can't use my usb-drives anymore, while my usb-scanner is OK.
Before updating it worked properly.

I'm having the same issue. When I right click on the USB icon and select my phone (file transfer mode, shows up like a thumb drive) then all of the sudden it disappears from everywhere. Linux debian host.
