Windows 7 host with Linux guest no audio

I have the drivers set up for audio on my Arch Linux box (Alsa and Pulse controls have volume set up for everything, master, PCM, etc) - successfully set up both Intel ICH and HD options. I cannot hear the sound on my Windows host however (sound does work on the host for applications running Windows). I see VirtualBox as a listed application in the Win 7 mixer, with the volume cranked up.
It appears the guest is configured properly and working on the guest (drivers for video, service for clipboard and shared folder all working). Host is configured for audio on the profile for this VM. Am I missing something for audio to be appropriately piped to the host?
Both operating systems are 64-bit (Win 7, Archlinux). Virtualbox 4.2.0r80737, 64-bit.
