Hi,
I am running a VurtulBox with Ubuntu 12.04 on WindowsXP (VirtualBox Version 4.2.0) but I am not able to use copy and paste. I *think" I have enabled/installed/activated the Guest Additions (is there a wa to check if these are enabled), and have enabled the clipboard settings as
VBoxManage.exe modifyvm --clipboard bidirectional
which shows up correctly in the settings (after reboot) under
machine -> settings -> General -> Advanced
with the shared clipboard set to birirectional. However, I am neither able to use the mouse with copy/paste to copy something from windows to the VirtualBox nor the other way. I would appreciate some help how to fix this, so I am able to use the clipboard in both ways!
Thanks,
Alex
No copy/paste possible for Linux VirtualBox
Re: No copy/paste possible for Linux VirtualBox
I cannot provide a full solution, but here are some points which might help to fix such a problem:
- Make sure to have enough space on the Virtual machine!
- Make sure to have the GuestAdditions installed (look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log)
- Make sure to have Settings->General->Advanced->Shared Clipboard set to Bidirectional
