Every time I start up it crashes ... It was working fine but when I made some changes to the screen resolution for the guest OSes , there was an error message . The message was :-
Failed to load the global GUI configuration . The application will now terminate .
So , I deleted the text in the .XML file which was causing this error . And now when I start virtual box it doesn't respond and crashes .

Re: Virtualbox crashes
VirtualBox version? Exact host OS (including whether 32bit/64bit)?
Post the edited xml you refer to, packed in a .zip please.
You might also post the VBoxSVC.log file inside the same .zip. The VBoxSVC.log file can be found in your <userdoc>\.VirtualBox folder.

Re: Virtualbox crashes
Hmm. The xml looks fine, and complete - the same as my work PC where I also use VBox 4.1.22. What did you delete from this xml?
The VBoxSVC log file looks unhelpful. It looks like its from a session where you started up and then shut down the GUI without running any VMs. The log has some generic warnings, e.g. you appear not to have installed the extension pack, but I see no sign of a GUI crash.

Re: Virtualbox crashes
The thing that I deleted from the XML file was :
VBoxManage setextradata global GUI/MaxGuestResolution 1600*900*32
Is there any way by which I can get virtual box on my PC to work again ????

Re: Virtualbox crashes
I would try a total uninstall, then a reinstall. Install everything, don't leave anything out. Run the installer with "Run as adminstrator..." whether you think you need to or not.
I would delete the VirtualBox.xml file. Leave the VM folder, add it back later using Machine | Add... then navigate to the .vbox file when prompted.
