What is the IP/name of a VirtualBox machine ?

This is a question with a second intention.
I use intensily DITTO a multiple clipboard utility.
This soft have an option FRIENDS consisting in the interchangeability of the clips between two or more terminals.

I would like that a virtual machine running DITTO be considered, when opened, a friend for Ditto in the host.

For this purpose DITTO ask me in the options for the IP/name of the equipment or terminal.

Can I do this with VB ?

Yes, it will certainly work. Whether it will work with your current network setup I cannot say, since I have no ides what that is.

A vm has a name and an IP address, just like any other machine. It is stored in the same place and you read it in exactly the same way (which depends on what OS the vm is running).
