Plz confirm - Mac host, Win7 guest, file sharing

I tried to share the Mac host files in a WIn7 guest a while back (oh maybe 10 months ago) and couldn't get the Win7 guest to see/use the Mac file system.

Can anyone plz confirm this works fine? I need r/w on the volume from within host and guest -

No, I don't want to setup the windows boot or use parallels.

One PC generally doesn't see another PCs filesystem. The only thing it sees are designated shared folders - which will work fine.

I shared the folders, but they do not show up on the Windows 7 side.

What do I need to do to make this work?

Not enough information provided. If you mean simple shared folders configured using the VM settings, then you need to install the Guest Additions (into the guest) for those to work. See chapter 4 of the user manual. Then you will find the shared folders in your network neighborhood.
