I tried to do a search, in the forum, for "dos" and "lpt" together and as separate terms but each time received no hits.
... I've been waiting for VB 4.2 so I can use DOS with a parallel port on a modern computer, but I cannot get it to print to LPT1 while in DOS. I can get the printer (Oki ML380) to work in Windows, via the parallel port, but cannot find a way to get DOS in VB to print to the printer. I've also tried a USB - Parallel converter (plus the assistance of a Comp Sci student) - no joy.
I'm using a custom (not created locally) DOS app which interfaces (via COM1) to an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer. I'm trying to eliminate the need for storing/maintaining antique computers just to run this one app... Everything works except printing to our parallel port printer in DOS.
The host is Windows 7 with VB 4.2, DOS 6.2, OKI ML380 (Parallel).
thank you (and I do know this has been covered before but for whatever reason I cannot do searches in the forum even after registering ... ??? (Firefox?))

Re: VB 4.2x DOS print to LPT
You need to use Google for searching short words for this forum: dos lpt site:forums.virtualbox.org
But try this first: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=51246
