Lose USB Mouse in guest + host

Post by jaden »

my host is mountain lion 10.8.2 and my guest is backtrack 5

i have logitech USB unifying receiver for my mouse + keyboard on my laptop. when i start a VM w/ mouse integration i completely lose my usb mouse both in the host and on the guest. trackpad works fine

if i disable mouse integration i then get the mouse back but only in the guest os, but still cannot use the usb mouse in the host.

the keyboard works without problem.

any ideas?

Remove the USB filter from the VM settings. Your guest OS should not be grabbing keyboard and mouse from the host if it wants the host to continue working! VirtualBox (the host application) will handle keyboard and mouse events using standard host APIs just like any other application running on your host does. USB filters should only be created for devices which are to be used exclusively by the guest.
