"Cannot register the DVD image" error on Mac

Hi,
I've seen a couple of threads from users reporting this same error, but either they don't use a Mac, or I didn't understand what they said at all.
I had three virtual machines successfully working (with VirtualBox 4.1.20). Last week, two of them no longer started, while the other one continued to work fine. I didn't move the machines to another directory (although maybe I renamed something in the path, I don't remember).
The error is:
Cannot register the DVD image
'/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso'
{f4... <a large code here>} because a CD/DVD image
'/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso'
with UUID {064 <another large code>} already exists.
I tried to uninstall VirtualBox with the uninstall tool at the dmg installer (and then reinstalled VirtualBox and guest additions), but, to my surprise, the error happened again when trying to add the machines, so it seems this uninstall tool doesn't clean everything 100%.
What can I do? (I've expertise with Terminal, so if there's some Terminal work which would fix this, please tell!!
