Virtual Box 4.2.1 -- running a Windows 8 64-bit OS -- guest additions installed.
Host is Mac OSX 10.8.2
If I open Notepad in Windows 8, type some text, select and "copy" it -- I can paste it right back into Notepad without an issue (as expected).
However, if I recopy anything and then attempt to paste it into something like TextEdit on the *Mac* side -- what gets pasted is whatever was last in the clipboard *on the Mac side*.
Meaning, the Mac clipboard is not updating to whatever I copied in Windows 8.
But if I open my WIndows 7 VM (which also has the 4.2.1 guest additions in it) -- this works.
So, is this strictly a Windows 8 issue? Or did my setup of a new VM for Windows 8 (using 4.2.1) miss some compatibility setting for the clipboard that I need to toggle?
Copy/Paste not working between Windows 8 VM and Mac OSX 10.8

Re: Copy/Paste not working between Windows 8 VM and Mac OSX
Make sure the clipboard is set to bidirectional. if it is you will need to post to bugtracker Not sure they will actually do anything about it yet as w8 is not officially supported yet but worth a try.

Re: Copy/Paste not working between Windows 8 VM and Mac OSX
That was it. "Bidirectional" was disabled in the new VM settings.
And, hey! Copy/Paste now works between Excel 2010 (Windows) and Excel 2011 (Mac) -- not sure if that's a Windows 8 fix or a VB fix -- but it's welcome to see!
Thanks!
