vb doesnt use all of my processors capacity

Post by tom909 »

Hi All

Using VB 1.5.2 with a winXP guest and suse10.3-64bit host on a machine with a 2.4GHz intel core2duo, virtualbox uses only 50 percent of the processors capacity, as seen in my KDE System Guard, monitoring CPU Load, as Well as CPU1 Load and CPU2 Load. On the guest I am using a plain for loop of simple calculations that usually takes all of the processors resources on a native system. Monitoring cpu1 and cpu2, it seems that VB distributed the load to the 2 cores, but the "overall" CPU Load monitor shows only 50 percent usage.
Does enabling VT make a difference here? Does enabling VT then make VB present 2 cores to the guest?

Thanks for your hints or links.

VirtualBox doesn't support guest SMP.

It means, that one VM can use only 1 CPU core.
