using NAT adaptor and working on Wireless protocol

Post by SandeepR »

Hi All,

I am using recent version of Virtual Box 4.1.22 on my Windows 7 x64 host. I am using running Oracle Linux Server 5.8 as Guest on Virtual box.

When using wireless on host, I am able to open google site via firefox in Guest. However, Issue am facing is am not able to ping any of the sites or systems though from my Guest on VirtualBox.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help in advance. :)

Cheers,
Sandeep

Pinging your guest will not work (NAT prevents it), but pinging from your guest should work fine, provided the sites you are pinging are not firewalled.

Slight correction. I am not pining to Guest, but I am pining from Guest.

No need for the correction. I understood your original post, but my reply covered both bases regardless.
