Ubuntu 64 Bit Guest - Dynamically Expanding Drive Issue
Posted: 28. Sep 2012, 07:28
Hi,
I have a "Low disk space" issue with an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit host . This is occurring with a dynamically allocated image file (VDI) set to a max virtual size of 15GB despite the Win 7 guest reporting only 6.89GB used. In addition, the guest OS reports a total disk size of only 7.4GB (I would expect it to report 15GB. See Green highlights in attachments). My 32 bit install (see yellow highlights in attachments) of the same guest OS (with a VDI max size of 20GB with 11.02GB used on host) does not have the same issue and reports a guest disk space of 20GB (as I would expect).
This appears to be a bug, but maybe I'm missing something here, so I'm asking if anyone in the forum can shed light on the issue?
Thanks for your help.
Host: Win 7 Pro 64 bit
VB version: 4.2.0 r80737
P.S. VirtualBox is an awesome tool.
