Hi,
I'm a long-time VirtualBox user that recently bought a Retina MBP. Unfortunately, it appears that guests only see the scaled resolution of the system (by default 1440x900, but can go up to 1920x1200 depending on display settings).
Is there any way to expose the actual panel resolution to the guest, i.e. 2880x1800? Apparently, both VMware and Parallels can do that, so it's certainly possible.
Any ideas?
Retina Macbook Pro: expose 2880x1800 resolution to guest?

Re: Retina Macbook Pro: expose 2880x1800 resolution to guest
There is a relevant bug report here:
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/10860
but this only talks about Linux guests (the issue affects Windows guests, too).
Anyone know of any workaround? I seem to recall that you could toggle some flags on an executable to make it run in hi-dpi mode. The VBoxManager apparently already has that, maybe we can do the same for the VM executable? (Is there a VM executable that we can edit?)

Has anyone found a solution to this issue by chance?

Have you tried within the guest setting the resolution?consumedsoul wrote:Has anyone found a solution to this issue by chance?
The Guest Additions within the guest would also be of assistance.
