How can I get a working mouse wheel WITHOUT using guest additions?
All I find are discussions about guest additions.
host: Linux
guest: Ubuntu 12.04, Debian Wheezy
I had it working once, but forgot how. Some package must be missing.

Installing the imwheel packge did not help.

not so off topic. it works with them, so my question would be appropriate. its a simple question but if you don't want to answer thats up to you.
