Severe stability issues with VirtualBox and Server 2012!

Hey folks,

I have an issue that needs urgent help; Any assistance would be appreciated. Unfortunately an inadvisable committee for a private school decided that an Apple computer would be the best platform for a Microsoft Server 2008 R2 TS Server and not a blade server for their private cloud. Now the client wants Server 2012 and we have to oblige and so here I am. Specification of my situation below.

Specs and Software:
Apple Mac Pro Server (2012)
- 2x Intel Xeon hexacores at 2.4ghz
- 64GB of memory
- raid 10 4x 3Tb drives
OS Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Virtualbox 4.2.1
Microsoft Server 2012 Standard for terminal services for 300 users 100 on at a time.

I have spent almost 3 weeks on this disaster that a week prior was ready to deploy in server 2008. The problem appears to be in start up, the iso on emulated optical boot freezes on loading of the installation media and if it successfully installs, it has loading issues after installation. I have alternated between all the possible virtualbox vm settings and vm architecture options when making a vm to find a resolution (too new). It gets less stable the more I increase memory before installing or after successful installation. Really at a loss here, I tried every possible setting in various combinations including different emulated disk controllers. Really at a loss here and I am running over deadline in a disaster

I'm sorry to say that given the problem statement (or non-statement?) you gave, there's not much help to be expected. This is probably one of the most vague "it doesn't work" post we've had here in a while...

What exactly doesn't work? Do you get any error messages? Crashes? If so, what exactly are they? What's in the relevant VBox.log? Are there any other log files, crash dumps, etc.?

BTW I have to agree that buying a Mac Pro to run Windows Server is a pretty epic waste of money.

Amen. But that's what committees do.

Why are you trying to run Windows Server in VirtualBox for this scenario? Why not just install it directly on the hardware, or using BootCamp?
