How to start headless VMs from the GUI
How to start headless VMs from the GUI
The release notes indicate "allow starting of headless VMs from the GUI". How is this done? I start VirtualBox, select the VM, Settings, Display. There does not appear to have a setting for headless mode. What am I missing?

You miss nothing. You can't start headless VMs from the GUI. There is a third-party tool, called VBoxHeadlessTray, which allows to manage VMs from tray. As far as I know it doesn't support VirtualBox 4.2 yet, but I think it will be updated soon.John W wrote:The release notes indicate "allow starting of headless VMs from the GUI". How is this done? Re: How to start headless VMs from the GUI
THANK YOU for describing how to do this! Running my server VMs headless is a real win for keeping system resources available for more useful things!
