3.1.4 - Network stops for 20.76 seconds

I have an intermittent issue on 3.1.4, and I am trying to find out if it is a known problem that has been fixed in a later version. I have read through the change logs from 3.1.4 to 4.1.22 and although there are network issues mentioned, I couldn't see one that mentions the behaviour I have observed:

The host is a W7 machine, and the guest is Linux with kernel 2.6.18-238.19.1 (CentOS 5) running Asterisk.

The problem appears to be the network interface in the Linux guest stops receiving inbound packets for almost exactly 20.76 seconds. After this exact duration, it starts receiving again, although packets that were sent to it during the outage have been lost, not queued. It was observed as outages in RTP streams being received, and happens randomly and infrequently. Traffic from multiple source IPs was lost, so it appears the problem is with either the W7 host, VirtualBox or the Linux guest.

Does the above description sound like a known problem that may have been fixed?

Thanks,
Tony
