VBox goes BLACK

Post by BobP »

Running VBox 4.1.22 under XP Pro SP3
Select New and get the Virtual Wizard
Set
Fedora 17 as name with Linux and Fedora selected
Memory 768 out of 2048
Create New HD (VBOX Disk Image)
Dynamically allocated
Creating in Fedora 17 in 8.0 GB
I then Create and done is reported and
I see and then start Fedora 17
First Run Wizard starts
choose the Fedora-17-x86 iso in d:\Fedora as media source
Says starting in 17 seconds
Screen goes black and stays black. Nothing happens - no cpu utilization.

I try again and select troubleshooting
Try in basic graphics mode ==> see nothing - black screen
What should I do ?
TIA - Bob

How long did you wait? It takes a long time to boot Fedora on hosts that do not support hardware virtualization in VirtualBox these days.
Also it might help to post the guests log file as an attachment.

See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.
