Network configuration setting gone since update to 4.1.22 ?

Post by Jerre »

I'm using VB for practice my MCTS 70-642 exam with three virtual servers Windows Server 2008 R2. Since I've updated VB to 4.1.22 my networkconfiguration settings keep on "disappearing".
How can I solve this or how do I downgrade VB ?

Thank you very much,

Well, since the update, my virtual servers suddenly are not in a network anymore and when I check the IP-configuration settings it's allways back to "obtain an IP-address automatically". So it seems like my virtual NIC is broken. I know that real life NIC's can get broken (it's rare though), but virtual ones ? On all three my virtual servers ?
So that's why I think it's due to the latest update of VB, if it's not, please someone enlighten me.

Thank you very much,

Try Step 1 if fails proceed with Step 2

Step 1 :From the VM try to disable the NIC and Enable it. Did you update the latest Extensions pack with the latest upgrade? if yes always check the Guest Additions are installed Properly. Reboot after installation.

Step 2: Since you have configured to get IP Automatically from the DHCP, you can create a new a new NIC from VBox manager --> Select roue VM--> Settings--> Network Enable the Adapter 2. Reconfirm the Status of the Adapter 1 in Vbox manager is enabled, if you want to enable the Adapter 2, Disable the 1st NIC and configure the 2nd NIC to either internal.
