Take Screenshot VB 4.2.0 not working correctly
I tried using the take screenshot function in 4.2.0 which does take a screenshot. However, it leaves garbage at the top of the screen where the Mac's menu bar lives in the guest and it looks like it displaces the guest's screen because the panel moves to where you can't see it. Logging out or restarting the guest doesn't fix it. You have to shutdown the guest.
edit: ML 10.8.1 btw. Tried it with Lubuntu and Xubuntu 12.04

I'm not sure if the lack of responses after 30 views means the screenshot function is working for everyone else or no one has anything to say about it.

You could only get authoritative responses from screenshot-using Mac-host users, probably a small group.

That is not full sccreen.ChipMcK wrote:standard window
Are you, by chance, asking that I test the screenshot while the Guest is in full screen mode?
Update: On the assumption that you were asking for a full screen test, I did so.
Preview scaled the image, but otherwise looks fine to my untrained eyes

Re: Take Screenshot VB 4.2.0 not working correctly
thanks for testing. the problem I am having isn't with the screenshot itself. that is fine. the problem is it leaves a strip of garbage at the top of the guest window. it may be an extension that has an icon in my menubar that is preventing the guest from redrawing correctly. I'll fiddle with it. thanks again for testing and yes, I meant in full screen. I never actually tried it in a standard window.ChipMcK wrote:That is not full sccreen.ChipMcK wrote:standard window

Windows does not have a menu bar.
For me, the OS X menu bar is not visible/shown in full screen mode. It there a settings?

Yes, in the virtualbox menu under preferences it's under the general tab it's "Auto show Dock and Menubar in fullscreen". Although the Dock doesn't always work and hasn't consistantly for as long as I can remember. But if checked, when you mouse up to the top of the screen the Mac menubar becomes visible.ChipMcK wrote:Windows does not have a menu bar.
