Video lagging

Post by Dustin Broke »

I been having this problem but basicly when I play a video or flash video using Real player it lags baddly. The sound comes out perfectly fine but just the video is lagging bad. I always have the settings maxed for my video card on virtual machine also have 2GB ram and have it set to have two virtual cores but still lags. I did also try having 3GB ram and 4 virtural cores but that didn't fix the problem. I have already installed guest mode and expansion files. I have Windows XP Home installed with latest windows updates. I did also install the latest flash player and java and shockwave too. The video is set to 128mb and have 2d and 3d enabled btw.

Ok I found out how to fix it I had to disable hardware acceleration on flash player. But I wonder why doesn't hardware acceleration doesn't work on VirtualBox. Maybe that's why it says no Direct3D on my older games. I did say about this on my other topic while agao. But there must be a way to make it work so I can have hardware mode on and work fine.

EDIT: Never mind that didn't work it did at first but it's doing it again. I really wonder if it has to do with the virtual video card. Also are there others that have this problem?

Enable 2D and 3D acceleration in the VM settings. Then install the Guest Additions in safe mode. If you still get laggy video after that then tough - it's a VM.
