Start cloned disc in vb - not working

Hi there!
I have a friends computer that is completely dead.
He need to access things on the hdd that is locked in the windows enviromente and therefore I can not just pick it out normally by connecting the disk with usb and a converter.
I connected the drive to my usb and thereby cloned it with Macrium Reflect and converted the file to a VCD image.
When I start VirtualBox, it will not be able to load the hdds windows copy. My guess is that the driveletters are wrong from cloning via my PC.
Suggestions on how to fix this?
Have not the slightest desire to rip out my disks and put in his to get the contents.
