Too many Virtual Network Adapters Help

Post by S3curityPlu5 »

I have installed and uninstalled VirtualBox quite a few times. I have updated everytime it has asked me to update. I have about 12 Guests that I use but never leave them running over night. If I go into Device Manager I have at least 19 different virtual networking adapters, mosty of them with the good old yello exclamation mark windows error. I have tried deleting them and uninstalling them from device manager but they do not go away, Here is a picture at this link of what my device manager used to look like. okay they wont let me post pictures now, well Picture a device manager with each of my wireless network adapters having numbers 5,5 4,4,4, 8,8,8,8 7,7,7,7 3,3, and 2,2,2,2 VirtualBox Bridged Networking Adapter Miniport and just plain virtualbox bridged networking adapter miniport numbered #1-19.

Now after updating to the newest 4.1.22 it is much worse, I just had to go in and disable 16 different adapters because they had the exclamation mark. Reinstalling Windows is not an option right now, I went into the registry but there were so many different locations that these adapters are I couldn't figure out where I could delete the keys.

I just want to clean up my device manager, when i uninstalled virtualbox they were still there, so i reinstalled it. :?

I now have a new question since nobody can answer how to remove these pesky network adapters... Now I have 3 of these same virtual network adapters with the dreaded Yellow Exclamation point in Device Manager. I have One VirtualBox Hostonly network Adapter which has the correct driver installed but Code 31 windows can not load the drivers for this device. Also I have two Virtualbox Bridged Networking Driver Minports (Both #13). Can someone please maybe offer some guidance on getting rid of these annoying yellow exclamation points. I am using the newest version of Virtual Box 4.2 and I have the 4.2 Guest additions as well as the 4.2 Virtualbox Extensions whatever they are for also installed. I would really appreciate someone telling me how to clean this up. I can't seem to get some of my virtual machines networks to work anymore. i have done several repair installs, and I have also tried uninstalling virtualbox and reinstalling but this does not clean up this virtual network adapter problem. I will not give up, there must be a solution to this. :x

Your question needs to be asked at a M$ forum. What you see is a cause and effect that they deem to be necessary.
