Fullscreen Dock Bar Bug

I was using a virtual machine (windows 7 guest on windows 8 host) in fullscreen mode when the bar at the bottom started floating through the screen. I think it randomly went up and down for a while, and then went up and out the screen. Does anyone know why this could have happened?
