Windows xp and more than one mouse

Hi!

I am using the actual virtualbox on a very small debian squeeze as host and windwos xp as guest. Everthing works fine, but i have ne new system with a speech recognition software and there is a philips hand-microphone with a trackball inside. I use only the start-stop-keys of this device but if xp has initialized it, the normal mousefunction is offline. The original mouse has no move (but a click-) function, only the philips trackball is functional. The same system in a real pc let the mouscuror move with both devices at the same time.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

best regards
Hagen

Please post the VM log file, as a zipped attachment please.

In the meantime I'm not sure what you were expecting. USB devices aside, the guest mouse is simulated using host mouse API notifications. Whenever the host mouse cursor moves or button click occurs, the VirtualBox app receives notification as any other app would, and that message is reflected into the guest as mouse movements. Any solutions for restricting operation to one pointing device etc would have to be solutions found on the host - the guest already has only the one pointing device.

You may however wish to try turning off the "absolute pointing device" option in the settings.

Hello!

Thanks for your answer. I mean i like to have to devices and one functional cursor, not two cursors! In the "real" environment it is possible to connect two mouse-devices and point the one mousecursor witch each device. In the vm the mouse-cursor is shown, but only one device (here: the philips speech-recognition microphone with mouse functionality) is functional. The origin mouse is deth in the moment the philips connects.
