Slow network connections to virtual SBS2003

Post by johnbran »

Hello,
I am running a virtual sbs2003 on a 8 core 64bit windows 7 ultimate computer. The host computer has its own dedicated network card as does the virtual machine. The virtual machine is set bridged adapter. The hardware is a realtek PCIe GBE set as a virtual Intel Pro /1000 T server card. The virtual machine's internet connection is fine the problem is it can take 5 minutes for a real client computer to log on the the virtual server. The virtual server has been virtualized from retired hardware. Does any one have an Idea why the connections are sooo slow?

Thanks

I would suspect network config problems, rather than problems with virtual hardware. This sounds like a job for WireShark.
