I have been unable to get the Windows 8 install to go through on my machine, and suspect it is the Z77 chipset it is having problems with being that it is very new.
The mainboard is an Asus P8Z77-V Pro with 16 GB RAM, and an Intel Core i7 3770k processor.
Hardware virtualization is on in the BIOS. The SATA controller's only option is AHCI, and Use Host I/O Cache is checked.
I tried it on 4.1.18, and 4.1.20
I tried forcing in the latest Intel AHCI drivers for Windows 7, and still does not work. I have tried many settings suggested on different websites, and none of them have worked.
I was wondering if anyone got this combo to work on one of these chipsets, and what settings they used to do it?
Thanks in advance.

You get this error:
How do you try to install Windows 8? from ISO, from a burned DVD?
Code: Select all
ERROR_RESOURCE_DATA_NOT_FOUND winerror.h
The specified image file did not contain a resource section.

From an ISO. I tested it.
