Hello! I recently tried setting up an Ubuntu VBox on my Windows 7 OS. I keep getting this error everytime i try starting my Ubuntu VBox.

Code: Select all

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Ubuntu.

VT-x is not available. (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {1968b7d3-e3bf-4ceb-99e0-cb7c913317bb}

What should i do to fix this?? :(

You must enable VT in the hosts bios.

No. I dont know your hardware.

Look into the manual of the manufacturer how to enter the bios at startup.

Sometimes the setting is called "secure virtual machine".

But maybe your combination of motherboard/cpu does not support this.

If this is the same host that you had the memory too high the CPU (P6100) does not support VT-x. So you can only install 32-bit guests.
