Hi,

I had done an upgrade of my virtualbox and get now the following problem :
- The keyboard is unavailable under X serer. Whatever the windows manager (gnome or xfce) I cannot use the keyboard. But it works fine with the console (on tty1 not X environement).
- Almost the same for the mouse. If I make the usb mouse available to the virtual machine (tool bar), I can use it but cannot see the cursor, while the pad (laptop) is just unavailable within Linux system.

I did an update by running sh ./VBoxguestaddition.run and the result is worth : Now, the screen is only one size.

Can anybody help ? Thanks.

Please post the VM log file, as a zipped attachment please. The VM log file is called "VBox.log", and can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of your VM folder.

In the meantime, have you installed the guest additions (inside the guest)?

In the VM settings, USB, does disabling USB support make a difference?

Thanks for answering.
Formerly, I did not install the guest addition inside the guest but then I did it. And finally I had probably did a mess in this.
If I enable the USB yes I can access to the USB mouse, but cannot see the cursor. With USB disabled I just have no mouse at all. The keyboard is not available.
Now disabling USB support does not change anything.

I notice the following during boot :

Code: Select all

sbin/mount/vboxfs failed
Vbg1R3Init fgailed with rc = VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND FAILED
startpar : service(s) retourned failure : udev vboxadd vboxadd-service virtualbox-ose-guest-utils.... failed
