4.1.20 Cannot access the kernel driver

Post by fperezpt »

Hello all,

on my laptop with Windows Vista 32x and after upgrading from VirtualBox 4.1.18 to 4.1.20 I have this annoying error on all my existing VM's and new VM's.....:
===========================
Cannot access the kernel driver
Make sure the kernel module has been loaded succesfully
---------------
Fallo al abrir una sesión para la máquina virtual Windows8-RTM.

The virtual machine 'Windows8-RTM' has terminated unexpectedly during startup.

Código Resultado: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Componente: Machine
Interfaz: IMachine {5eaa9319-62fc-4b0a-843c-0cb1940f8a91}
===========================

I have tried to:
1.- Repair (no luck).
2.- Uninstall / Reinstall (no luck).
3.- Uninstall / Reinstall previous version (4.1.18) (no luck also)... :-(
4.- Uninstall and remove all registry keys and vbox*.sys files. Reinstall 4.1.20 (no luck).

After every uninstall I have a WARNING on my 'Device Administrator' (Start -> Execute: devmgmt.msc) on:
-> VirtualBox Bridged Networking Driver Miniport #4

I haven't be able to remove that 'VirtualBox Bridged Networking Driver Miniport #4'.

So I suspect it is the culprit, but I am not sure.

I need ASAP to solve this problem.

Any idea ?
