Ping problem with IPv6

My host is win7-64, guest is win8.

I am unable to ping the guest using an IPv6 address. I've tried all the IPv6 addresses I see using the "ipconfig" command on the guest.

The ping command response is: "transmit failed. General failure."

I'm sure I have overlooked something simple.

If you are using the default network setting (NAT) you cannot ping from the host to the guest. NAT is a one-way translation process. You cannot get from the "public" side to a machine on the "private" side, with ping or any other method. Built-in personal firewalls can also interfere with ping.

Have you tried using the host only network?

Router doesn't support IPv6.
Is there any way around this? I need a tutorial on all of the virtual machine networking options.
