Can I load e1000e driver instead of e1000 driver

I modified e1000e module and want to load in virtualbox. I choose Intel 82540EM NIC from the list. Ubuntu loads e1000 driver for this NIC. Is it possible to load e1000e driver for virtual NIC on the list? With rmmod e1000 and modprobe e1000e commands NIC doesn't work.
