Hi,

I installed virtual box on my Windows 7 x64 development box. I then created a Win 2003 SP 2 guest using a disk image downloaded from MSDN. I seem to have no network connectivity:

My Virtual Box Network Settings are:
Attached to NAT
Cable Connected is checked.
There's nothing set up in Port Forwarding.

From the reading I've done it sounds like this should "just work."

Also, I'm not sure if it has any bearing on this, but I have been able to get network connectivity on a Virtual XP box to work with Microsoft Virtual PC.

My only other experience using VirtualBox was using it to run an Ubuntu VM on my home Vista machine. On that machine the network "just worked." I looked at the network settings on that box, it was set to NAT, but the adapter was set to "Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)," I'm pretty sure that was the default value.

On my work Win 7 box, it was set to NAT, with the adapter set to "PCnet-FAST III (Am79973)," I'm pretty sure that was the default value for this box. I changed the adapter to "Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)" and it just worked.
