Trying to install Windows XP OS. Have tried this same thing on multiple computers with Host Windows 7 OS. Will not work, does the same thing every time. Starts to load, then says "press any key to boot from cd" and then gives options of restarting your computer in safe mode among other options.

I have installed the Virtual Box for Mac on a Mac computer, used the Windows XP guest OS and had no problems at all.

Please help, I have tried to fix this on my own for 6 months.

What are you using for the installation media? Is it a physical Windows XP CD? Is it a genuine Microsoft retail version? Can your host read it?

I am using a WindowsXP.SP3 torrent .iso file.

The same file I used on the Mac host which installed the WindowsXP Guest correctly.

Illegal software is not supported.
