Different IP addresses for different guests

Hi all,

I have a Win7 professional machine as a Host, and I wanna create several WinXP guests (say 2 or 3) so I could test some PVM/MPI applications before installing on an real architecture. The problem is that all guests share the same ip address, so I can't direct requests between machines, add machines to the cluster, etc. My Host machine is configures as Bridge.

I have looked for some explanation about how to get this working but unfortunately, I have found nothing. Could someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

regards,
Renan

In bridged mode the IP addresses are assigned by your Router (DHCP service). At least I assume that's what you mean by "the host machine is configured as bridge" - in fact it's each guest which you configure, not the host. I'll assume you meant the former, as I'm not sure what the latter could mean.

You created the VMs by cloning? If yes then you needed to make sure each VM had a different MAC address, as that is the only way the Router can tell that a new "PC" is present. For existing VMs, shut it down then go into Settings|Network|Advanced and generate a new MAC address (notice little icon beside MAC address field).
