Primary HD Clone?

Is there a feature with VirtualBox or any other software that will make a virtual file clone of my primary HDD?

I know VMWare Workstation has it but I am not into paying $200 for the one feature.

From where do you have your infos? Nonsense, the workstation costs, the converter is free.

Thank you very much! I don't have much info, I am just getting into the subject. I spoke with them directly, of course they told me there was no alternative to Workstation even though I was clear all I needed was the cloning function.
