My Hard-drive crashed, how to I recover my VM?

Last week, my Windows XP SP3 crashed. I had to re-format the hard-drive and re-install all my programs. It is now time to consider re-installing VirtualBox. Even though I did not have anything important stored within my VM, it would be faster for me if I could recover the data from my old drive (I made a copy of it before re-formatting it) rather than re-creating a new VM.

At the time of the crash I was using VirtualBox 4.1.18. I have a copy of my "C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\.VirtualBox" (with all its content [including snapshots]).

My questions are:

1. is it possible to recover my data?

2. if it is, how?

Thanks.

Copy the whole backup of VBOX to the same directory should work, because all infos are stored in files.

Thank you. It worked.

The only problem that I encountered was that I had inadvertently changed my computer name when re-installing XP. However, a quick editing of the main 'xml' file solved the problem.
