I'm trying to do some Android App programming in my Ubuntu VM (running on a Win7 host). When I start the android emulator from Eclipse, the emulator just sits there (Eclipse console says Emulator is waiting for HOME (process.android.acore) to start. And nothing ever happens after that.

Anyone seen this or similar behavior? Has anyone been able to run the Android emulator within VirtualBox?

If the Android emulator requires VT-x then it will not run inside VirtualBox. In general you cannot run one hypervisor inside another.

The Android emulator from the SDK is working for me on Fedora 17 (win 7 64 host), I just needed to install some i686 libraries. Run it from a terminal so you can see the error messages.
