inaccessible guest after 4.1.20 install

Post by NuMex75 »

So I installed 4.1.20 yesterday on my OSx 10.6.8 and everything worked fine in my windows 7 guest until today, when I open vbox, it says my windows 7 guest is inacessable with the following error:

Cannot attach medium '/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso' {436d676c-7426-4eaa-b9a3-52610b34709c}: medium is already associated with the current state of machine uuid {45931de1-e307-4d06-8737-025ce622359e}!.
Result Code:
VBOX_E_OBJECT_IN_USE (0x80BB000C)
Component:
Medium
Interface:
IMedium {53f9cc0c-e0fd-40a5-a404-a7a5272082cd}

I installed 4.1.20, ran windows7 no problem, then installed guest additions, no problem. then today all the sudden this arises. Im pretty new to vbox so help on this issue is appreciated.

* So I did notice that windows had two Guest additions running, so I ejected the one I thought was the "old" one from 4.1.18. Im thinking this has something to do with it, but I dont know how to fix the issue, I have no access to any settings or anything on that VM.

Select one of your guests, go to Settings then click Storage and see if the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso is attached to a controller in the Storage Tree. If so then highlight it and click on the little CD icon in the Attributes area and choose the host drive instead. Do this for each guest until you find the one that has grabbed the Guest Additions iso. Then try to start up the Windows 7 guest.
