Post by breadman »

Just upgraded to 4.1.2 and all of a sudden, no internet on my windows 7 guest installation. I tried using both NAT mode and bridge mode to no avail. what else can i try?

Have you checked Network in the Settings to see if the Enable Network Adapter checkbox has become unchecked?

Try "ping www.google.com" in a commandline on the host.

Its shows you a ip-adress.

Input this ip at the browser in the guest. Does it show google.com?

Yeah, i'm connecting to the router, but that's about it... ping doesn't return anything--just times-out

i think it might be a coincidence, but wondering if it's more of a windows 7 problem rather than a virtualbox problem. attached are the logs

also not sure why it's connecting to 10.0.2.* ... my router is designed at 10.0.0.*... so that's confusing to me and wondering if my problem is around that

Sorry, is see no problem in the log.

Another idea: Do you have a router? Have you checked bridged instead of NAT?

Alright... corrected it. Here's what i did:

* uninstall my virus protection on windows 7 / client side.
* reset the computer and mac osx asks me whether i want to allow virtualbox to accept incoming connections. I said yes
* now i can connect...

somehow the upgrade may have made my osx deny connections to windows 7 client.
