Updating to 4.1.20 fails - now can't uninstall 4.1.16

I tried updating to VB 4.1.20 by running VirtualBox-4.1.20-80170-Win.exe on my Windows XP sp3 host system. It hung on the setup "wait for a few minutes" screen. After 10 minutes I clicked "cancel" and it did nothing. I initiated a log off from Windows and all up a sudden the device driver warning windows for mini-port drivers came up. I selected stop and then got the message "setup ended prematurely". Really?!

I rebooted and tried again with the same error. Then I rebooted and tried uninstalling my existing 4.1.16. It tries running the mini-port drivers and no matter what I select, I can't continue the uninstall.

How does a person completely uninstall VB from Windows? What is the best way out of this catch-22 dilemma. I can't go forward, or backwards. Thanks.

I found a solution to this dilemma. VB does not like the nic card I have active. A usb wireless (TP-Link 150 mbps wireless lite n adapter). I disabled the nic and then was able to rerun the 4.1.16 setup to fix files, then install the 4.1.20 update over that. Checked to make sure VB runs correctly. It does. Then re-enabled the wireless nic. And now everything works correctly. Hooray.
