bluetooth problem

Post by Slevin »

Hello,
(sorry for my bad english)
i have Windows 7 (64bit) and I installed Scientific Linux 6.3 on a Virtual Machine. On this VM I want to use some usb-Bluetooth-dongles. The first problem is, that only a few of my dongles are recognized in my VM. Some other dongles are recognized under Windows, but not in the VM.
2nd problem: the dongles, which are recognized in the VM (=I get an output with #hcitool dev) can't be scanned or browsed by other devices.
So this is what i get from a remote PC:

Code: Select all

hcitool scan <address-of-dongle-in-vm>
Devices:

Code: Select all

sdptool browse <address-of-dongle-in-vm>
Failed to connect to SDP server on <address-of-dongle-in-vm>: Connection reset by peer
If I put these dongles into a third PC (also with Scientific 6.3, but not as VM) then everthing works fine.
Hope you can help me.

I assume you have created USB filters for each Bluetooth device?

I think that's the problem:
I couldn't create filter for all bluetooth devices, because some of them weren't listed.

Not listed? You mean the host couldn't detect them?

that's what i tried to say at the beginning:
some dongles are listed and i can choose them to create an usb filter.
in this case the bluetooth-dongle is available in my VM (but can't be scanned/browsed by a remote PC) - but the dongle isn't available in my host.

some other dongles are only listed as "unknown device" (but i also create a filter for this unknown device!)
in this case the bluetooth-dongle isn't available in my VM. But it is available in my host.
