Hi
I've just got a new machine and want to copy accross a couple of VMs that I have created. What files do I need to copy (I presume that I just need to know the file extension)?
Thanks

If the version of VirtualBox was = > 4.* you need to copy the entire folder that has the guest. The just use the add feature to add it to VirtualBox.

I have created couple of VM's on my Desktop and now i want to move them to my laptop.
I tried exporting the appliance and importing it in my laptop but that does not work. I also tried to copy the all the files physically from my desktop to my laptop but that also does not help.
It goes in the reboot mode and on the screen it show " Windows is loading file"
I even tried cloning the disk but that also does not help.
Any suggestions to port the VM from dektop to laptop.
PS: my dekstop is a I7 8GB Windows 7 Pro machine where as my laptop is I3 4GB Win 7 Pro.
Regards
Ajit

"does not work" and "does not help" is not useful diagnostic info.

Very true
As was advised to me - Copy the folder with the VMs in it to your laptop and open Virtualbox (on your laptop), click on add and navigate to each VM to add them.
I suppose that if the VMs are not in a folder on your desktop then it may be best to create a folder on your laptop to put the VMs into.
I was always told not to put to much on a computers desktop because it increases the users profile size which has an impact on logon and shutdown times.
