hi.
since i have upgraded to mountain lion, when i use a ubuntu vm, the screen size seems to be locked at 800 x 600. when i go into system settings(ubuntu) and display, i am informed that the display is in laptop mode, and the switch to change this is greyed out(not able to change).
any thoughts?
thanks.

Yes. This is extremely unlikely to be caused by host OS upgrade. So what else did you change?

ok, it seems to have sorted itself out. if anyone runs into this problem, install guest additions and then shutdown the vm properly. this is what worked for me.
sorry for the time-waste.
