Trying to install Vista as a Guest OS via reinstall disc

Post by nickcapo »

I can't get the installation to complete. It gets through expanding files and installing updates and then gives me the following error:

Windows cannot copy files from D:\Sources to C:\$Windows.~LS\Sources. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x80070001.

Any idea what I am doing wrong and how I can fix it?

Thanks,

Nick

Most OEM re-installs are only meant to be used on the original equipment, and even then not as a virtual guest. They depend on specific hardware and usually a special partition on the drive to install from.
