This is very very annoying me! I have tried all possible settings. For example, use bridged network, NAT, Host- only adapter and tried to set 192.168.11.1 to 192.168.11.245 all around the host and guest.
Please Help... cause I am using an old usb wireless adapter in XP only and it is working good in xp guest mode, but i can't share the internet to win7 host. My wireless network configuration as follow

Don't use the USB wireless adapter directly in the guest. Set the host up to use that adapter, and set the guest to "NAT". You may have to undo some of the IP changes you have made.

I use the USB wireless adapter directly in the guest because It doesn't have driver for WIN7! Therefor I must use it in guest xp. What is the the configuration in both guest and win7? Can the virtualbox solve the problem?

If the USB wireless adapter is working in the guest then all you should need to do is turn on Internet Connection Sharing. For the link between guest and host you will probably need to be using Bridged or HostOnly networking (NAT will not work for this application).

If I was you I would do this in stages. First step is to get a working network between host and guest - use "Host Only" networking. This is not really a VirtualBox problem: if you know how to network two Windows PCs together (one Win7 and the other XP) then you can get this working. If you don't know how to network two PCs then you'll need to find out.

Once you have the networking part fixed then you can plug in the USB adapter and enable Internet Connection Sharing - which will be shared across that network connection you created.

Dear mPack,
Now, My condition is that i can share the connect between the guest xp and the host win7, they are pinged each other without problem. Moreover, the guest xp can use the usb adapter surf to the internet. But the win7 still can't get into the web. What is going on? I have tried for one month to get it work! help pls.

Please remember to provide specific information. Are you now using "Host Only" networking between host and guest?

The only remaining thing I can think of is ensuring that Win7 is not blocking an "unknown" host only adapter. I.e. setting the "*NDisDeviceType" registry value as discussed in this thread.

Problem solved that I just use the win7 auto-correction function.
