run GNS3 and CentOS on VirtualBox on VMware

Post by Y_Nishiyama »

I want to use GNS3 and CentOS on VirtualBox in windows Server 2008 R2 on VMware.
I can install them completely, but CPU utilization of windows Server 2008 R2 has been 100%.
I want to lower CPU utilization.

What should I do anything ?

P.S.
I'm so sorry that my English is poor.
I hope anyone help me and tell me anything.

You can't run VirtualBox on VMWare. In general you can't run one hypervisor type VM inside another.

Clearly, that's incorrect -- as he's doing it an his CPU is maxing out.

Not to mention the GNS3 community has stuff plastered all over their pages about it (seemed weird to me too -- but they' say they're doing it, so whatever).

As for your CPU maxing out at 100% when running your IOS appliance, this is more of a GNS3 question than it is a VirtualBox one -- you need to set your IDLE PC value to prevent this from happening.
You will observe that without an idlepc value, CPU usage will be at or near 100%, but with an idlepc value, CPU usage will drop to a very low value.
Hmm... seems I can't post urls, so I've obfuscated this, scroll down to the section about configuring the IDLE PC value.
