Reduced network connectivity on Ubuntu client

All

On W7 4.1.16 I run a 12.04 Ubuntu client with bridging network. I am able to ping the host as well as the gateway 192.168.51.1 I cannot however ping other boxes in the 192.168.51.0-network.
It is not possible to see the client from the outside (ping) either. I was doing this on XP for quite long but seems to not work any longer on W7.

Actions tried so far: Turned off firewall. Set the NDISType to 1 in the registry (unidentifyed adapter issue).

Nothing helped. What do I need to do?

Thanks for help

Urs

Ok

This is fixed now. It looks as if I didn't realize that SP1 was not installed yet. Having done that, all works fine again.

Appologies for bothering you.
