Updated to 4.1.18 and bridged networks died

Hey Guys,

Hoping for a little help. I use VirtualBox here for my demo machines and when I updated to the latest version I started getting the VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND error and the machine doesn't boot. I scanned the internet and the forums but cant find anything relevant to current versions or my application.

Host: Windows 7 32bit
Guests: Ubuntu, Win7, Xubuntu

I have tried multiple different virtual adapters, same problem and I have tried multiple physical adapters in bridge mode. Same problem. I can NAT but that doesn't accomplish the networking connectivity that I need from these virtual machines. I have tried rolling back to my previous version, no help. I have tried repairing, no help and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No Help.

I checked and attached to both my wired and wireless adapters on the physical host are the virtual helper drivers for virtual box, both checked and enabled.

Does anyone have any ideas or ways to resolve this?

What version did you upgrade from?
Drop VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND site:virtualbox.org in Google for some possible fixes.
Also if the Bridged adapter does not show up in the settings see http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch12.html#idp16298560

I believe it was 4.1.6 and I feel like I had this problem about a year ago but that time a rollback fixed so I just stuck with it.

As for searching, I have for a day now. found a lot of people on v2 with issues and a lot of people with Linux hosts. I have a Windows7 host so these fixes don't really apply to me. The only Windows one that I found, the person said they resolved their issue by reinstalling. That doesn't help me. Would love to get some help though!

Does anyone have any troubleshooting advice beyond what I have already done?

Did you uninstall, reboot, & then install again?

I just tried that one too. Still nothing. Does the TAP-Win32 Adapter have anything to do with VirtualBox? After I uninstalled it remained, I assume because of my OpenVPN Client. Could that be at all related?

Actually that should have been the first thing you posted. VPN clients do affect the network stack.

Good to know. I blew away all of my Network Adapters besides my Wired Lan, reinstalled wifi drivers and uninstalled OpenVPN. One of the above fixed the problem.

Now I've got a weird thing with my wireless where it is telling me I have limited access even though I seem to have full internet capabilities. but I suppose that is off topic. If anyone has ideas though I would love to hear them.
